Midnight: O Seven

I do not have pictures or even words just yet to describe what happened over the last three hours. Darius Miles Jersey But I do have names:

David, Anthony, Carl, Mike

Joe, Christa, Sarah, Brian, Sarah Brian, Sydney, Cesar, David

I have never felt so at home. Clutching a CVS bag full of crescent rolls. Raindrops splattering on my head, dirt specks on my feet. I don’t remember their shoes. Auden Tate Jersey I remember their faces, their voices, their stories. The prayer Christa spoke over the two men as our arms were around them. Jared Davis Michigan Jersey Jordan Harris Georgia Jersey David held on to my fingers as he was leaving. Damien Harris Jersey And now I am looking at absolutely everything differently. Cars. Dominic Zvada Michigan Wolverines Jersey My rain jacket. Cole Tracy LSU Jersey The shower I just took. The leftover food I just ate, that I pulled from my fridge. The bed I am leaning towards… Deyvid Palepale Jersey and then there was our group. Olumuyiwa Fashanu Jersey Names, laughs, tales. I was included. Eddie McDoom Michigan Jersey They had space for me. Deakon Tonielli Jerseys Not in the car – but in their mission. Tracy Howard Jersey (I caught a ride home, neck bent at the angle of the ceiling, sitting on a wood block.) Three crock pots.

And the absolute best part was my very first observation: I could not tell who was homeless. (And apparently, neither could some of the team, because they asked Gerard and me if we wanted food. I identified myself by asking how I could help. But all of us ended up eating a meal along with them anyway.)

Absolutely incredible.
