I am not one to do much on New Year’s except think. And I do that every day. But towards this last month of the year, I tend to think a little broader. Maybe with feelings of awe at the passage of time mixed in. Nothing special.

This year. 2008.

1. I graduated from high school. (Mondo yesssssss.)

2. Rob Phinisee Jersey I finished my first quarter of college at SCAD.

3. I embraced my love for secondhand things. Calbert Cheaney Indiana Jersey Recycled. Reused. History. Personality. Age. Meaning.

4. My journal contains writer thoughts for each of the past 365 days.

5. This year, God turned my life upside down. And around. He is my everything.

6. I have realized how much I want to have a family of my own.

8. I have a vision in my head for what it is I want to do with my camera and my pen. All I can say is that it involves so much more than simply recording peoples’ faces. There is some kind of heart thing involved. Souls. Stories.

9. More than ever, I have a ravenous appetite for music type things. Guitar. Piano. I am playing. I am writing. I am learning. D.J. Morgan Jersey I want more.

10. My family is precious.

12. I am discovering what pretty feels like.

My weakness is no longer my imprisonment.

14. Will Macoy Auburn Jersey At eighteen I listen to the same music my mother did at her age. George Winston and Michael Hedges. I wear her belt. Her chopstick holds up my hair.

15. I am fascinated by strangers. People. Personality types. Introduce yourself. I want to meet you.

16. Books I want to read: House of Leaves, Diary (A Novel), Waiting for Godot, Midnight in the Garden, The Road…

17. Books I am reading: Questioning Evangelism.

18. Music I want to listen to: Iron & Wine, Pink Floyd, Alice in Chains (whatever’s good from those two – the radio has intrigued me), anything authentic and expressive.

19. Music I am listening to: George Winston (Autumn), Owen, Fleet Foxes, Anathallo (Canopy Glow)

20. Food I would like to eat: Naw, that was a joke. I’m a college student. Feed me. I’m starving.

This next year, I am very excited to see what happens. First Photography class this quarter. Friendships. More than friendships. See how I grow. Hopefully there will be more music, more photographs, more love, and more wisdom. Wisdom through suffering, rain, soup, salad, smiles, or laughter. Colin Simmons Jersey Whatever.
