Cadmium Cataracts

I kinda miss home.

(Does that surprise you?)

Class is going great. I like all three of my professors very much. My photo professor is redheaded, intelligent, friendly, and easy to understand.

He segregated our classroom today. Canons & Nikons. Guess which side had more.

My Color Theory professor is very pretty, rather funny, quirky, and she seems thorough. Just the color she was wearing made me happy. Matthew Lado Jersey It was a deep berry color – a subdued festive hue. I have a feeling this class is going to make me (more) insane. Scottie Phillips Jersey Today I painted the primaries for my color wheel. You’d think that would be easy. Zack Sanchez Oklahoma Sooners Jersey Ooooh, but honey, we are re-mixing them. Lotzeir Brooks Jersey Perfecting those colors that come out of the jar. Cadmium Red is too orange-y. We want fire engine. Or is that still tomato? And that Cadmium Yellow? Yak! It is far too egg-y. Mustard. Oops I made lemon. Gahhhhhh.

We are going by our intuition. (Not matching to a standard color wheel.)

Well, let me tell you something. When you go by your intuition on a test, it is very easy to lose track of what your gut instinct is. The longer you stare at that ink on the paper, the more muddied your thoughts become. A. No, C. Surely B is there to trick me? But I considered A first. Kenny Woseley Jr. Jersey (Same holds true for acrylic paint on canvas paper.)

My Survey II (art history) professor comes across as “the crazy cat lady,” but she seems witty and personable. Preston Malone Alabama Jersey And so far, it appears I may have much less reading to do with this teacher. She kept throwing one end of her scarf across her chest the whole class. Terry Godwin Georgia Bulldogs Jersey Never got up from her chair.

After I painted my primaries, I took a walk around the dorm. Stale air of my dorm room. Nothing left on the to-do list. Sinking sun. I saw the top half of the moon – bottom rounded. De’Vion Harmon Jersey Did you see it too? Then I ran for my camera (with its freshly tweaked shooting settings) as I rounded the corner.

I am ready for work. Work is not coming so quickly. It will. But right now I wait. And while I wait, I think of home. I miss hugging Mayo whenever I want. Jud Fabian Florida Jersey I miss walks with Pepper. Heck, I wanna go swim laps at the gym. And take that wonderful shower afterward. Kaliq Lockett Texas Jersey I don’t miss being lazy. But Disney movies, Momma’s brekkis… Santana Wilson College Jersey oooh. I miss my people. Custom Jersey I was so ready to come back. Jack Lindsey Jersey I am ready to be back.

I’ll be fine in a week or so.

  • Your classes sound super nifty.
And reading about them relieves my angst about not being able to get into the right classes.

By the way, I appreciate your blog. A lot.
